My passion is sewing. I love to make clothes, quilts, accessories, anything I find that I like,  I will try it!

This year (2013) I have a goal to open a sewing school. I intend to start in my home at first, then expand eventually to a studio. I currently rent a large 3 bedroom house and have to rent out two rooms just to be able to pay rent. I would like to make enough money so I don’t have to have non family members living in my home! I have a great job at a high tech company here in Silicon Valley but would much rather be sewing, teaching sewing, or reading about sewing! O.K., a good man in my life might derail me for a little while, but I’m willing to make that sacrifice.

I am also the mother of two BEAUTIFUL daughters, who are adults now. My granddaughter is 10 years old and a HUGE part of my life. She stays with me on Wednesdays and Fridays. Summer is coming and that may change, but that’s how it works during the school year.

I feel very blessed to have the house I rent. It has a small back yard (c’mon, it’s California, all yards are small) where I can garden and enjoy watching the hummingbirds.

I have Peripheral Neuropathy. It is a genetic form of the disease, so there is no cure or “fix” for it. It’s managed by pain medication. I don’t focus on it as much now as I used to. I just have to manage the pain on a daily basis. Some days are good, some are bad.

I plan to keep my blog focused on sewing, some knitting,  and a little about my disease.  Of course you will hear a LOT about my granddaughter, my daughters, and some fun recipes I might try!

Please feel free to comment, ask for pattern ideas, sewing help, or anything you feel you want to chime in on!
